Biography
Internationally recognized aviation safety leader with over 40 years of experience spanning commercial aviation, international policy, labor relations, and emerging technologies including RPAS and advanced air mobility. Served as President of the International Federation of Air Line Pilots' Associations (IFALPA), representing over 100,000 pilots across 100+ member associations at ICAO and global regulatory bodies.
Beyond the cockpit, Ron has dedicated his career to shaping the policies and standards that govern global aviation. As President of IFALPA, he represented more than 100,000 pilots from over 100 countries at ICAO, IATA, and regulatory bodies worldwide — advocating for safety, fatigue risk management, and the responsible integration of emerging technologies.
Today, through AbelWorks, Ron brings that experience to operators, regulators, and organisations navigating an aviation landscape transformed by RPAS, advanced air mobility, and evolving safety frameworks.
